Estas últimas semanas/ What I´ve been working on this past few weeks

Estas últimas semanas estuve trabajando en dos muy lindas novelas para chicos de las cuales habrá novedades muy pronto. Estos trabajos siempre son muy interesantes porque implica desarrollar la identidad visual de personajes nuevos y es uno de los aspectos de la ilustración que más disfruto.
Con estos dos libros terminados, me reencontré con Anita Demare, siempre tan inquieta y que se las trae en la próxima entrega de su saga. El otoño me encontró con muchos dibujos y así sigo, al abrigo del trabajo en el taller.

These past few weeks I've been working in two very nice novels for children that will be out very soon. I find these commissions to be always most interesting since I love developing the visual identity of new characters. With these two books done I am back with a new story starred by Anita Demare. This fall got me drawing a lot and it goes on, well kept in the warmth of my studio.

Esta es la tapa de Fofoletes, un relato acerca de la infancia por María Gabriela Belziti e ilustrado por mí. Estamos muy felices con la pronta aparición de este libro en la 40a Feria Internacional del Libro de Buenos Aires.
Estaremos firmando ejemplares de los libros los días 04/05 a las 16 hs. y 07/05 a las 18 hs. en el stand de Del Naranjo.

This is the cover of Fofoletes, a story about childhood written by María Gabriela Belziti and illustrated by me. We are very happy about this release at the 40th Buenos Aires International Book Fair.
We´ll be signing copies of the book at Del Naranjo's booth next 4th may at 4 p.m. and 7th may at 6 p.m.

Estas son algunas de las ilustraciones que realicé para "Fofoletes", una historia de María Gabriela Belziti editada por Del Naranjo y presentada en la 40a Feria Internacional del Libro de Buenos Aires. ¡Es mi primer libro de tapa dura, estoy muy contenta!

These are some of the illustrations I made for `Fofoletes´, a story by Argentinean writer María Gabriela Belziti published by Del Naranjo. The book is going to be presented at the 40th Buenos Aires International Book Fair. 
It is my first hardcover book and I am very excited!

Muestra colectiva de ilustradores en la Revuelta Cultural

Este jueves 20, viernes 21 y sábado 22 estaré participando de una muestra colectiva de ilustradores en el marco de la Revuelta Cultural-Ciclo para chicos y grandes curada por la talentosa Bela Abud. La muestra tendrá lugar en Central Newbery / Galería de Arte (Jorge Newbery 3599, esquina Charlone). 

El viernes 21 los esperamos para el brindis, a las 19:30 hs.

This Thursday 20th, friday 21st and Saturday 22nd I´ll be participating in a group exhibiton of illustrators that is part of the Revuelta Cultural, a cycle of activities and exhibitions for the whole family in Buenos Aires. The exhibition is curated by my talented friend and colleague Bela Abud. It will take place in Central Newbery / Galería de Arte (3599 Jorge Newbery St., Chacarita). If you happen to be in Buenos Aires, you are welcome to stop by. The opening cocktail is this friday 21st at 7:30 p.m.

Lo que estuve haciendo últimamente/ What I´ve been up to lately

A veces, el último trimestre del año se colma de felices proyectos. Mi participación en la Pinta Art Fair 2013 en Nueva York y la muestra colectiva de ilustración 8 Líneas en Buenos Aires me mantuvieron lejos de la web por unas semanas, pero aquí estoy de regreso para compartir un poco mis últimas experiencias.

 El pasado 11 de noviembre partí a Nueva York junto a Carmen Sandiego galería para participar de Pinta, The Modern & Contemporary Latin American Art Show y presentar una nueva serie de acuarelas y cerámicas. Este año, además de incluir mi trabajo, la galería mostró obras de los artistas argentinos Fabio Risso Pino y César Trinca. 

La feria tuvo lugar en el Soho, al sur de Manhattan, y convocó a un público muy interesado y ameno, pasamos unos días muy lindos y conocimos mucha gente. También aprovechamos el hospedaje en Brooklyn y las horas de luz en la ciudad para recorrer un poco, todo resultó en una gran combinación de trabajo y diversión.
Regresé a Buenos Aires el 20 de noviembre cuando inauguró la muestra colectiva de ilustración 8 Líneas en la galería Pasaje 17 de APOC Ospoce curada por Dolores Casares. Se incluyeron trabajos de los artistas/ilustradores Augusto Belmonte, Cynthia Ferrer, Franca Barone, Josefina Wolf, Julia Dron, Lucía Harari, Natalia Colombo y los dibujos originales de mi serie Listas para las vacaciones. La muestra quedó preciosa y puede visitarse en los meses de diciembre y enero 2014 en Bartolomé Mitre 1559 de 11 a 19 hs.

Sometimes, the last trimester of the year is full of happy projects. Showing my work at the Pinta Art Fair 2013 in New York and the group exhibition of illustration 8 Líneas in Buenos Aires kept me away from the web for a couple of weeks but I am back now and wanted to share a little of my last experiences.
Last november 11th I went to New York with Carmen Sandiego galería to take part in Pinta, The Modern & Contemporary Latin American Art Show and showcase my last watercolor series and ceramics. This year, the gallery was showing Fabio Risso Pino´s and César Trinca´s works besides mine, both also Argentinean.
The fair was located in the Soho, south of Manhattan and brought together a friendly and interested audience. We had a great time and met a lot of interesting people. We also enjoyed of our stay In Brooklyn and took the day hours to walk around and visit some places. It all turned out to be a great combination of work and leisure!
I came back to Buenos Aires on the 20th nov for the opening of the illustration group exhibition 8 Líneas curated by Dolores Casares at Pasaje 17 Gallery. There are works by the artists-illustrators Augusto Belmonte, Cynthia Ferrer, Franca Barone, Josefina Wolf, Julia Dron, Lucía Harari, Natalia Colombo and the original drawings of my series Listas para las vacaciones. The show is beautiful and is open until january 2014. The gallery is located at Bartolomé Mitre 1559 and the opening hours are Mo.-Fr., 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

El calor de la primavera llegó repentinamente a Buenos Aires y eso es algo bueno para los friolentxs como yo. Estoy feliz preparando dibujos y cerámicas nuevas para la próxima feria en Nueva York.

Spring heat has suddenly reached Buenos Aires, which is a good thing for the ones like me who feel the cold so hard. I am happy and preparing some new drawings and ceramics for an upcoming art fair in New York.

EGGO está organizada por la Asociación Argentina de Galerías de Arte (AAGA).
El evento de inauguración tendrá lugar mañana jueves 05 a las 18 hs. (con invitación).
